I visited the College of Biological Sciences (CBS) Greenhouse last Friday and would like to share my experience with you. The CBS Greenhouse is located at 1534 Lindig Street on the U of M's St. Paul campus. The public hours are 9am to 3:30 pm from Monday to Friday(Closed on holidays and weekends).
Everyone is welcome! It only takes a couple of minutes walking from the campus connecor stop to the greenhouse.
Here is the main entrance of the greenhouse.
The CBS Conservatory is a biodiverse collection of plant species from all over the world. You can find more than 1200 plant species here.
You can also find a brief introduction to each ecosystem on the door.
This is my favorite plant:Mimosa pudica. When you touch it, the compound leaves will fold inward and droop. How amazing it is!
The flowering of Corpse plant at Conservatory has attracted lots of visitors ealier this Febuary.
The blooming process was amazing. Check out the video here.http://cbs.umn.edu/conservatory/corpse-flower
Greenhouse is a great place to hang out, especially during winter time(warm!). Every time I am surrounded by these green plants and lovely flowers, I feel happy and relaxed. You should not miss the chance to hang out with these lovely plants!
