Are you looking for an on-campus job opportunity?

Hi guys!

Today I am going to introduce how to find an on-campus job. I worked at the Office of the Registrar during the winter break and in my opinion, working on campus is a great way to not only make some extra money but also gain work experience while going to school. (Especially for those who want to get a job in the U.S. after graduation, on-campus job experience can be a great story you might want to talk about during job interviews!)

International students can only work on campus for 20 hours/week in fall/spring and 40 hours/week during spring/summer/winter break. If you want to work off campus as an intern, you have to go through a CPT process which I will not touch on today. You can find more information in detail on the ISSS website.

Ok, so here is the website where you can find all current job openings on campus. Let me walk you through how to search for jobs that you want.

Step1: If you are a new user, create an account and log in to the website.

Step 2: Next, select Twin Cities campus in Locations drop-down box

Step 3: Select "Part-time" in the drop-down box

Step 4:  You can also select specific college you want to work for.

Step 5: You will see a list of job openings that meet the criteria you selected above.

For those who want to work in on-campus housing (dormitories), you can find more information about available positions and responsibilities here: https://www.housing.umn.edu/employment/part-time

U of M bookstore is also hiring part-time student employees throughout the year. You can directly submit an online application here: https://bookstore.umn.edu/customercare/employment.html#.VuRjXZwrLIV

Good luck Gophers!
