Housing and Residential Life (HRL) at the University of Minnesota strive to foster a learning and inclusive environment by organizing student engagement events such as the Social Justice Leadership Retreat. Along with 56 students and 18 facilitators, HRL organizes this involvement event at Camp Friendship in Annandale. Every year they strive to increase and sharpen the knowledge of people at the U around social justice issues. The 3 day, 2 night camping trip includes fun activities and story circles that create an environment of trust, friendship and bonding. Surrounded by the beautiful snow-covered wooden cabins, the retreat not only helps students form deeper connections with each other, but also is committed to bring about a change on campus.
