This winter break I decided to head over to San Francisco for a week as I wanted a break of the snow and cold that was here in Minnesota! I have an aunt in California who invited me to come over, and to my surprise, my mom and younger brother joined me there soon after I went!
I had one of the most beautiful experiences I have had since I have come to the US, just getting to know the city of San Francisco and its deep beauty, as well as being together with family and a caring aunt and uncle. It was more than I could have hoped for. I got to travel a lot, so I did get to see a lot of the city, and a lot of its outskirts and the beautiful hills and mounts and the beach. It was unbelievably good.
We went to the Golden Gate Park, which is very Japanese tea garden inspired.
We went to the scenic Yerba Buena.
We also got to experience a beautiful sunset overlooking the coast from the top of a hill.
We visited the pier regularly, even going to a popular warship display, where old warships have been turned into a museum of sorts.
On their own, these moments would have been awesome, but I think the reason why it was so special to me was the fact that I was seeing my mom and my younger brother after almost 4 long months. It was like we never parted though, once we connected. It was so much fun, and we got to see so much of the city. My uncle and aunt were very hospitable and great people, and I honestly think it was a highlight in my life, being able to share those experiences of enjoying a city truly as unique as San Francisco for the first time with my family.
