Every year, 12 days before Labor Day (September 1st), the Minnesota State Fair official begins. This year was no different. The State Fair opened its door on Thursday, August 21st and ran until September 1st, and classes at the University of Minnesota commenced on September 2nd. The State Fair is one of the most celebrated events in the U.S because of the fried food, music, kids, families, and warm weather!
One of the most famous foods at the Fair is fried food, this includes fried pickles, fried bacon, fresh French fries, and even fried cheese curds. More importantly, the Minnesota State Fair is the largest of its kind in America in terms of average daily attendance!
The greatest thing for college student? As a student at the University of Minnesota, you can buy a discount fair ticket in advance (which means you can skip the ticket line at gate) for $10 in the UMN Bookstore. And there are free buses running from campus by the TCF Bank Stadium to the Fairgrounds every 10-15 minutes!
The Famous Fried Pickles - only at the Fair
No better way to spend a summer Saturday than at one of the busiest fairs in the US.
